She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Charity Hospital of New Orleans and went on to practice for almost two decades in Lafayette, Louisiana. Following a brief move to Houston, Dr. Nevils returned to Cajun country and Lafayette, where she continues to help women make educated decisions for a healthy life.
