• They are registered as a 501 (c)(3) organization of a nonprofit nature. United Muslim Relief (UMR) is among the most rapid growing NGOs in the country of the United States, while their key focus is on the creation of humanitarian coalitions which in turn deal with various developmental needs. UMR has the belief that everyone has the full right to reside in a more secure, more equitable world, one that is free of poverty, and whereby they have the capacity to go on and realize their full potential. They are inspired by the ethos that pertains to Islam, though, simultaneously, they are not only open-minded but also pluralistic. At UMR, the belief is that everyone, irrespective of their age, their background, or their religion, should have the capacity to freely access sources of healthcare, clean water, to basic social services, and they should equally be able to maintain a sustainable livelihood. Matters related to shortage in natural resources, climate change, humanitarian crises of varying nature, famines, energy limitations, and the proliferation of warfare all dictate that it’s more important now than ever before to have collaboration within areas that are related to international development. As such UMR work together with a large diversity of partners so as to tackle these particular challenges in a more effective manner while being able to rely on a more productive approach. Besides the strong belief that UMR have in collaboration, they also believe in giving back to the various communities that provide them with support, as well as to their volunteers, without which, UMR would not be what it is today. By way of making an investment in their student-led chapters around the country, UMR strive to ensure the development of the humanitarian leaders of tomorrow. UMR’s Vision UMR’s vision is to become a world leader in developmental services and in the uniting of the relief provided by partner organizations so as to better be able to assist communities that remain underserved in the achievement of helping them to thrive through self-sustenance in a dignified way. UMR’s Mission UMR’s focus is for the integration of their global partners’ services for the provision of developmental aid and comprehensive relief which will then be bestowed upon worldwide communities that are underserved. They achieve their humanitarian mission through the blending of advocacy, disaster response, youth mobilization, and also empowerment through the power of education. UMR’s Purpose At UMR they believe that everyone, regardless of their religion or race, ought to have access to healthcare, clean water, to basic social services, and have the capacity to earn a livelihood in a sustainable way. UMR’s Approach At UMR, they try to obtain their purpose through education of the public, delivering sustainable programs, running campaigns, and delivering humanitarian aid within areas of disaster and conflict.
