The Women’s Center founder, board-certified physician James Bendell, MD, PhD, was recently named LaGrange’s Best Doctor in a popular vote. Dr. Bendell earned his PhD in reproductive biology at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. He earned his medical degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and then completed his OB/GYN residency there as well. Dr. Bendell has board-certification from both the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition to his busy practice, Dr. Bendell also serves as an assistant professor at Augusta University in Georgia. The Women’s Center offers wide-ranging services, including body sculpting, minimally invasive robotic surgery, treatment for pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence treatment. Dr. Bendell is the only robotic surgeon in the LaGrange area and received the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists special excellence award in recognition of his minimally invasive surgery skills. In the rare event that Dr. Bendell can’t help with a problem, he refers patients to a trusted consultant for specialized care. As a small, independent private practice, The Women’s Center offers the type of compassionate individualized care that’s often lacking in large and impersonal practices. As part of his commitment to the local community, Dr. Bendell works as the medical consultant for a women’s rehabilitation facility and an abused women’s shelter.
