About Us

  • Podiatric surgeon Christopher M. Yardan, DPM, is the owner and founder of The Center for Foot and Ankle Surgery in Wallingford, Connecticut, where he emphasizes providing the highest level of care with a compassionate and practical approach to all conditions that affect the foot and ankle.  Whether it’s a broken bone, suspicious skin lesion, chronic sports injury, or a previous surgery, Dr. Yardan is committed to finding a treatment that best suits the patient. With his extensive surgical training, including advanced training in procedures such as limb deformity correction, limb salvage, ankle arthroscopy, radiofrequency ablation, and platelet-rich plasma therapy, Dr. Yardan uses the latest techniques to get patients back on their feet with minimal downtime. Originally from Branford, Dr. Yardan received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Boston College and his doctorate degree in podiatric medicine from Kent State University in Ohio. He went on to complete a three-year surgical residency, specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction, under Dr. Steven Spinner (former president of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery) and nearly 50 other orthopaedic and podiatric surgeons at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida. Dr. Yardan completed close to 1,000 foot and ankle surgeries during his residency. He also received advanced training in flatfoot reconstruction, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and sports medicine. Dr. Yardan is currently on the medical staff at Yale New Haven Hospital and is an attending surgeon of the foot and ankle surgical clinic at Saint Raphael Hospital, and he’s affiliated with the Hartford Health Care System as well. He is also an associate on the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Yardan is a member of the Connecticut Orthopedic Institute, and he’s certified by the state of Connecticut to perform advanced reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.  Outside of his work, Dr. Yardan greatly enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, golfing, and playing basketball in his spare time.
