• Hi, we're Jo and Tim Ullom. We open our SUNSET PET RETREAT boarding kennel for dogs and cats on July 15, 1997. The home away from home is located 2.5 miles west of Shell Lake on Sand Road and 1/2 mile north on Sunset Drive, or 2.5 miles west of Shell Lake on County Road B and 1/2 mile south on Sunset Drive. As pet lovers ourselves, we know how hard it is to be separated from your beloved pet(s). Our goal is to provide exceptional care for your pet and make their stay with us enjoyable. Rest assured your pet will be comfortable, safe and out to play while you are away. We encourage you to see where your pets are housed. We also encourage pet owners to call us to see how they are doing during stay with us. We are a small facility which all dogs and cats must have a reservation. Normally we suggest calling at least a week in advance to avoid a disappointment. However, if you will be boarding around a holiday or during the summer, we suggest booking well in advance to assure a reservation. Services: Kennels are heated, air-conditioned, and fresh air exchange. *Play time outside 4 to 5 times a day in 6 foot high fenced large exercise pens. *Play groups or play date. *Dogs are given treats after playtime . *Kennels are cleaned daily. *Dogs are fed meals 1 to 3 times per day. *Music. *Hugs and belly rubs. *Raised beds. *Stainless steel dishes. *Toys and Playground Equipment. LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS: Big Kennel: Pens are 4 ft x 10 ft with raised beds for bigger dogs and ceramic tiled floors. West Wing: Pens are 4 ft x 8 ft with raised beds and a lot of sun light mainly for smaller dogs. In Door/Out Door Kennel: Pens are 4 ft x 4 ft on the inside and the outside is 4 ft x 10 ft with raised beds. Country Suite: Bedding is provided on a toddler bed and designed for well behaved and house trained dogs who enjoy the comforts of home. It is a spacious 4.5 ft x 10 ft room with ceramic tiled floor, raised water and food dishes, daily maid service and big bone at noon. TV is also available for $1.00 extra per day. Exercise Pens: There are 6 spacious outdoor exercise pens for all of the buildings above. Cat Area: They have their own private room with hammock, resting shelf and a litter box. We have a cattery with a rocking chair, toys and a window sill for lounging.
