• Dr. Medina’s Medical and Specialty Training
  
  Dr Medina was born in Budapest, Hungary, and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He speaks English, Spanish and Hungarian fluently.
  He attended the University of Buenos Aires Medical School where he graduated with Honors in 1977 and then completed his internship and residency in Philadelphia, at Graduate Hospital, affiliated with University of Pennsylvania. Dr.Medina also completed a Fellowship in Invasive-Interventional Cardiology at the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.

  Dr. Medina is a Board Certified Cardiologist with over 30 years experience
  He has been practicing in Tampa, Florida, since 1984 and has been in the same Practice since 1994
  
  Dr. Medina has been affiliated with Pepin Heart Center at Florida Hospital in Tampa, where he has held numerous leadership positions, including Head of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
  He has been one of the busiest Interventional Cardiologists at Pepin Heart Center throughout his tenure.
  Dr. Medina has held Faculty positions at the University of South Florida School of Medicine
  He is active in clinical research, participated in many published national research projects, some as lead investigator. His medical research has included published review articles and chapter in prestigious journals, books and other texts.

Phone calls are always picked up by a person, not a machine, and the Medical Assistant or Dr. Medina will talk with the patient personally and promptly. Because of his extraordinary training and experience he is frequently asked to see patients for a "second opinion".   -Coronary Artery Disease: Chest pain, tightness or heaviness, heart attacks or strokes, angina, coronary spasm, etc
  
  -Cardiac Rhythm disorders: Palpitations, irregular heart beat, atrial fibrillation and arrhythmias, "extra beats" or "pauses," syncope or fainting spells, tachycardia (fast heart beat) and bradycardia (slow heart beat)
  
  -Peripheral Vascular Disease, lower extremity claudication and leg pain, blocked arteries anywhere in the body
