• Proudfoot Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, based in northwest Ohio,has been in business since 1887 and Native-American owned since 1967. Proudfoot’s clients and projects reach well beyond Ohio and Michigan. Whether designing bridges or roadways, helping communities manage storm water, or working creatively to come up with alluring streetscapes, Proudfoot’s team always puts safety, people and environment first and consistently finishes projects on or ahead of schedule. Proudfoot Engineering has designed thousands of miles of roadways in Ohio and Michigan and is qualified with ODOT for major highway design. Proudfoot is also qualified with ODOT and MDOT for major bridge design. The firm backs every inspection with a BR-86 report and provides color photographs, summaries of each structure, recommendations for improvement and load rating analyses. Efficiency, effectiveness and safety of traffic flow are Proudfoot’s goals while planning traffic engineering projects. Proudfoot designs traffic signalization, including signals, signs and pavement markings; investigates locations with high accident rates; and develops countermeasures to reduce the number of accidents. Proudfoot prepares traffic flow management plans for construction projects and provides estimates for the impacts of proposed commercial developments on traffic patterns. Proudfoot also provides research for safe and efficient traffic flow on sidewalks and crosswalks as well as corridor studies, signal studies and design, traffic/parking studies and impact, safety and maintenance of traffic plans. Proudfoot helps communities manage storm water. Drainage solutions include: detention ponds, storm sewers, roadside swales, shoreline erosion studies, floodway assessments, bridge and culvert hydraulics, dikes, dams, floodwalls, retention structures/outfalls, stream restoration, drainage design and storm sewer systems.
