Our patients have the best chance for a successful surgery and fast recovery time, all without any trips to the hospital. Dr. Bruening is the medical director of Park Eye & Surgi-Center. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as a member of the prestigious Society for Excellence in Eye Care. He received his medical degree at the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1980, and went on to become Chief Resident of the Ophthalmology Department at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Wake Forest Medical Center in North Carolina. Dr. Bruening specializes in clear cornea cataract surgery, a micro-incision technique that reduces post-operative complications and recovery time. He is a skilled surgeon who has performed this surgery over 20,000 times.
