I grew up in Hollywood California where I started piano lessons at eight years old. I always enjoyed playing for people and found many opportunities to play. As a young teenager I would go to Shakeys Pizza and listen to a guy play Ragtime music to Charlie Chaplin movies. The lively exuberance of Ragtime made quite an impression on me. That experience led me to more Jazz and popular music. While at Cal State Los Angeles studying piano performance I started playing for local parties and events. Eventually I played on the Sunset Strip and for movie industry parties in the Hollywood Hills. Lots of Fun! As a twenty-something I wanted to try something different. I had a family connection to Albuquerque and had visited over the years. I moved to Albuquerque in 1993, and in addition to performing, also developed a teaching studio as well. Making music in New Mexico continues to be a fun adventure!
