  Why pre-filing mediation?
  Modern Solutions was started because I believe there is a better way to resolve family disputes without excessive litigation through pre-filing mediation. As such, I stopped taking contested divorces for legal representation.
  As an attorney, I entered into family law with the philosophy of helping my clients through their divorce, while keeping their family and finances as intact as possible. However, by protecting their rights and preparing them for litigation, I was also teaching them how to be, and stay, combative. This litigation driven divorce is both financially and emotionally draining. It further destroys the parties' relationship, but it can also harm the relationships with children, family and friends. Mediation is eventually court ordered, where the majority of the cases are resolved, but at what cost?
