  • John McNally earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1966. He served on active duty as an officer in the U. S. Navy from 1966 until 1970, when he began the study of law at the University of Virginia Law School, graduating in 1973. Upon graduation, John practiced law in Alexandria, Virginia and Washington, DC, specializing in litigation. In 1987, John was among a select group of lawyers in the country to receive the highest rating for practicing attorneys (AV) from the nations preeminent rating service for lawyers, the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Martindale-Hubbell develops its ratings by soliciting confidential opinions from practicing lawyers and judges. Lawyer ratings have appeared in this directory for more than a century. In 1989, John and his family moved to Vermont where he was offered a partnership in a firm practicing in Vermont and New Hampshire. John practiced litigation and business transaction work for the firm in New Hampshire and Vermont until that firm dissolved in 1999. In 2000, John formed his present firm and continues to focus on litigation and business transactions. In the 35 years that he has been practicing, John has handled commercial lawsuits ranging from insurance fraud cases to construction disputes to anti-trust cases; wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury lawsuits; and he has also represented business clients in all manner of commercial transactions in Virginia, Washington, DC, New Hampshire and Vermont.
