• About Us I'm Theresa V. Johnson, attorney-at-law, the principal attorney for the Law Office of Theresa V. Johnson, a/k/a "The Leap Firm". As a former Intellectual Property Manager for the corporate icon, AT&T, I gained extensive corporate business and intellectual property management experience. I received my education from several of the most acclaimed universities in the United States. My law firm provides one-stop, full-service, no-nonsense legal counsel with an emphasis in intellectual property (International and U.S.), immigration, business law and general civil litigation. I have litigated cased in various areas of law, including: defamation, breach of contract, replevin, mechanics liens, personal injury, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Title VII discrimination. I provide legal services to a broad spectrum of international and U.S.-based clientele spanning from individual artists and entrepreneurs to large businesses and organizations. Each of my clients receive personal and friendly service at reasonable hourly fees and/or flat rate fees. All "legalese" is be translated into simple, everyday English, that you can understand. You will not be shuffled around to lower level attorneys or have to deal with bureaucracy or politics.
  
  As a member of the Illinois State Bar Accociation's Intellectual Property Committee, I serve as a speaker for Contintuing Legal Education seminars for attorneys. I have spoken on intellectula property and various internet law topics such as music downloading, copyright infringements on the internet, how to respond to trademark office actions, politics and intellectual property, and cloud computing.
