• Axis Health System is a private, not-for-profit corporation. Founded as Southwest Colorado Mental Health Center in April of 1960, we have been providing services to the five counties of Southwest Colorado (Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan) for more than 50 years!
