• About Dr. Dixon Heather Dixon, DO, is a skilled obstetrician and gynecologist practicing at Corpus Christi Women's Clinic, located in Corpus Christi, Texas. Despite being born in Canada, Dr. Dixon likes to consider herself a local, since she moved to Corpus Christi when she was very young. She is one of 6 children, all of whom are very involved in the local community. Dr. Dixon knew she wanted to become a doctor when she was a child. After graduating from Tuloso-Midway High School, she attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biomedical science. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Dixon earned her master's degree in medical science from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, located in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed her medical education at the University of North Texas Health Science Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Dixon became interested in studying osteopathy because she believes that the practice of medicine should start with getting to know the patient as a whole person, rather than concentrating on their symptoms. When she started medical school, she initially intended to study family practice because she always looked forward to building lifelong relationships with her patients. However, when she returned to Corpus Christi to complete her third-year rotations, she was quickly convinced by the physicians at Corpus Christi Women's Clinic that obstetrics and gynecology was her true calling. During this time, she also met her husband, Josh, who is a Corpus boy, born and raised! She then completed her residency at Texas Tech University - Amarillo, where she was known for her ability to put patients at ease in all situations and her passion for obstetrics. Following her residency, she longed to be back by her family and the water. So when the opportunity arose to join Corpus Christi Women's Clinic, Dr. Dixon did not hesitate to make the return trek south along with her husband and daughter. Dr. Dixon is proud to serve the community that helped her discover her dream of becoming an OB/GYN, and she looks forward to serving and educating the women in the Corpus Christi area for years to come. In her free time outside of the office, Dr. Dixon enjoys spending time with her family, surfing, swimming, and cooking/eating good food. Call Us Today
