• Meet Dr. Katie Edwards Katie Edwards, OD, is an experienced optometrist who cares for her patients at Green Eye Midtown Optical in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She is originally from Tylertown, Mississippi, and she looks forward to helping patients in her community address their eye concerns. When it comes to her eye care practice, Dr. Edwards puts her patients first. Dr. Edwards completed her primary education at Parklane Academy in McComb, Mississippi. She received her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in General Chemistry from The University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Edwards then completed her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Optometry. Following her Optometric program, Dr. Edwards completed a Residency in Ocular Diseases and Primary Eye Care at the VA Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Dr. Edwards' philosophy and approach to patient care emphasize viewing the patient as a whole, considering their overall health and how that can relate to various ocular conditions. She believes in clear and effective communication with patients at every stage of their health journey so that they can understand how to maintain excellent vision and ocular health. Patients enjoy Dr. Edwards' warm and friendly personality, her excellent communications skills, and her attention to detail. Outside of her practice, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and shopping. Dr. Edwards also loves the beach, cruises, Disney World, and spending time with her Shih Tzu, Ember.
