About Us

  • Licensed Direct Entry Midwives (LDM) are authorized by the Oregon Health Licensing Agency to provide maternity and well woman care and newborn care to women and newborns considered to be low risk for health problems.

The same lab tests and ultrasounds that are routine in a medical practice are available to women. Vitamin K, eye medication and metabolic screening are available for newborns.

LDMs bring a fetal Doppler, blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, oxygen, resuscitation equipment, medications to control bleeding, IV fluid and supplies and medications mentioned above for the newborn.

The cost of a home birth is significantly less than the cost of a hospital birth. There is no hospital bill. On an average, the savings is about $10,000.00.

If you are interested in having a home birth with a skilled midwife, a free consultation can be arranged for you to meet me and ask any questions you may have. I would love to hear from you!
