Demetrio's Pizzeria has been a Sarasota landmark on the trail since 1975. Dino Karounos, along with his family (his wife, Hildegard, and two daughters, Lisa & Jennifer) moved from New York in 1979. Prior to moving to warmer weather, Dino and his 6 brother's owned a diner in New York called The Six Brother's Diner. Demetrio's began shortly after their move to the sunshine state. The restaurant is operated by Dino Karounos, his wife Hildegard, his daughters Lisa Tatum and Jennifer Antony, his son-in-law Jim Antony, and his grandchildren. Our restaurant has a lot of followers and many loyal and devoted customers over the last 35 years. The atmosphere is casual, and very family oriented. Dino and his family have had the pleasure of welcoming many customers through their doors, but more importantly, welcoming these customers into their hearts as well.
