About Us

  • About Dr. Chi By the end of his third year of medical school, Dr. David Chi decided to pursue medicine as his career. “Out of all the rotations I’ve experienced, I enjoyed [internal] medicine the most,” he says. “I enjoyed working in the hospital setting and I think it is a better fit for me than in the outpatient setting. Dr. Chi’s approach to practicing medicine is to always obtain a very good history and physical exam as missed details can lead to missed diagnosis and delayed treatment. From patients, he has learned from his patients that things may never always go your way, but empathy is an important part of how he works with people. “I often try to educate patients when they’re ill, so I hope patients [are] able to understand more about their own conditions and live healthier,” he says. He completed his residency at Kettering Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency, Kettering, Ohio. His Doctor of Medicine degree is from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, CA. While he is the first doctor in his family, his sister is a nurse with Beacon and that is how he came to work in South Bend. “During my interview here, everyone was very nice, which left a good impression on me, and I feel that I can fit in with the group.
