About Us

  • Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Dr. Daniel DeMizio obtained his undergraduate degree in biology, summa cum laude, at the College of New Jersey. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society while a medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. DeMizio subsequently completed his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and his rheumatology fellowship training at Columbia, where he has since stayed on as faculty.Dr. DeMizio is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. DeMizio’s particular academic interests include vasculitis, quality improvement, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He serves as the Director of the Vasculitis Center.Dr. DeMizio also has a particular interest in medical education and was a member of the Clinician Educator Track during his residency. He remains very involved with teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and currently serves as the Rheumatology Course Director for the Medicine Residency and 4th Year Medical Students
