ARTIST STATEMENT LIGHT AS LIFE ENHANCEMENT All around you are scenes, objects and people that if viewed in different light have beautiful, magical qualities. Paths that you travel many times can have special impact when viewed in different lighting. Look up. Exploring light at sunrise and sunset is my current theme that enhances colors, and adds hues not typical of mid-day. Cast shadows lend depth, character and mystery to the landscape. The deep shadows frame the scene which burn an image in the mind to be remembered with awe. A beautiful landscape can swell your being with a sense of reverence and well-being. Through these romanticized landscapes I hope the viewer can visualize and revisit their magical experience of the nature’s bounty. Dan Young/impressionist artist
