About Us

  • At Compassionate Care Veterinary Center, your pet is our patient and our patients come first! We are conveniently located at 1147 North Main Street in Randolph, Massachusetts. We are a full service animal hospital with an emphasis on wellness and preventative healthcare from the newly born to the geriatric. To that end we offer an in-house lab to assist in diagnosing diseases before they become problematic, especially in senior animals. We also have state of the art x-ray and digital ultrasound machines with which to complete our diagnostic work-ups. If you pet is to become ill, we have an oxygen ICU, an ECG machine, an eye pressure machine, a blood gas analyzer, and a blood pressure monitor as well as other monitoring equipment for sick and anesthetized patients. Patient care is overseen by a certified veterinary technologist to help provide the very best care possible. Compassionate Care has created a special boarding environment for felines only. This room is completely out of earshot of barking dogs and provides a stress-free home for your cat. We also provide boarding for birds and other exotics. In addition, we provide routine trims for birds, rabbits and rodents, as well as medical care. Whatever your animals need may be, whether it is preventative medicine or treatment of an illness, you can rely on the expertise, knowledge and state of the art care provided by Compassionate Care Veterinary Center. Dr. Joan Diebold graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Medicine. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Diebold completed an internship at the MSPCA’s Angell Animal Medical Center in Western New England. Since then she has been practicing veterinary medicine at a number of hospitals in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including two years at a practice specializing in birds and other exotic pets. Dr. Diebold’s areas of special interest include internal medicine, dermatology, cardiology, anesthesiology, feline medicine, exotic animal medicine (especially birds and exotic mammals), pain management, behavior, and western herbal medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.Dr. Diebold has been a resident of Quincy since 1984. She lives with her numerous pets including many cats, two dogs, an African Grey Parrot and a rabbit. Compassionate Care’s philosophy is to focus on patient care as well as client communications and client education. Our goal is to provide the highest quality care to all of our patients. Every effort will be made to combine the medical excellence found at large hospitals with the individual attention and friendly atmosphere of a small clinic. We recommend routine screening for all healthy pets in order to detect diseases early and prevent more serious problems from occurring in the future. We sincerely believe that most sick pets recover faster in a familiar environment, so, whenever possible, we keep hospital stays to a minimum. Compassionate Care Veterinary Center practices the safest possible anesthesia and has extensive equipment for monitoring all vital signs while our patients are under anesthesia. All of our surgical patients go home with adequate pain management designed around their individual needs.
