• About Us Beins, Axelrod, P.C. was established in 1996, with the merger of the labor and employee benefits practices of two longstanding and highly regarded Washington, D.C. firms. Together, our lawyers bring more than 80 years of expertise in labor, employment and employee benefits law and litigation to the service of our clients. Our clients include individual public and private sector employees alleging violations of federal and local laws addressing discrimination, retaliation, disability, wage and hour, contract, pension and other employment issues. We have also represented claimants for death and disability benefits under the Public Safety Officers Benefit Act at the U.S. Department of Justice. Our firm serves unions and professional associations representing federal, state, and municipal public employees, private sector unions, benefit plans, nonprofit organizations in matters ranging from stock options and severance to benefit plan amendments, termination, and fiduciary violations. The Firm’s union clients include national and international unions as well as local unions and other subordinate bodies. The Firm litigates on behalf of its clients in federal and local trial and appellate courts, and in administrative agencies including the National Labor Relations Board, the District of Columbia Public Employee Relations Board, the Federal Labor Relations Authority, and the U.S. Department of Labor. We also provide strategic and policy advice to our institutional and individual clients, and advised Congress on recent statutory changes broadening federal benefit coverage. We have lawyers licensed to practice in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts and Michigan.
