• Andrew Barsky, M.D., is a radiation oncologist at Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute. Lynn Cancer Institute, a part of Baptist Health, is located on the campus of Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr. Barsky specializes in radiation oncology and has completed extensive training and research in proton beam therapy. Prior to joining Lynn Cancer Institute in 2021, Dr. Barsky was on staff at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed his radiation oncology residency. His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals, including Cancer, the Journal of Thoracic Oncology, Practical Radiation Oncology, Clinical Lung Cancer and the Annals of Palliative Medicine. Dr. Barsky has also presented on proton therapy for prostate cancer and thoracic cancers at numerous industry events and international conferences. He received a “Top Abstract” honor at the 2020 National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Annual Conference for his presentation regarding sex-based disparities in the receipt of care and survival in malignant pleural mesothelioma. He also won first place in the 2019 Cureus Journal of Medical Science case report competition regarding the use of radiation therapy as a modality to create abscopal effects. Dr. Barsky’s approach to patient care focuses on treating each patient as a unique individual, with both medical and personal factors that can guide optimal care. Just because two patients have similar cancers does not mean that they must receive identical treatments. When he sees a patient, he considers their cancer in the context of their full medical history; interpersonal, family and community support systems; and the specific risks and benefits that any treatment option may carry. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Barsky enjoys watching Boston sports teams, traveling, attending live comedy shows and concerts, spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and playing tennis.
